The Environmental Research Institute hosted a joint seminar with the University of FH Burgenland, Austria on Friday, November 3rd on Different Perspectives on the Energy Transition.

The event explored the different approaches (energy systems modelling, social innovation, human dimension and transdisciplinary approaches) to improving our understanding of the energy transition. The ambitious Paris Agreement on climate change has been ratified in record breaking time and now the urgency and opportunities surrounding the energy transition are greater than ever. The event was timed to coincide with the UN COP22 Climate Change meeting in Marrakesh.

The seminar brought together perspectives from different disciplines within UCC and also marks the strengthening of relations between UCC and FH Burgenland in Austria.
