Niall Hore joined MaREI in January 2020 as a Research Assistant focusing on formulating scenarios to understand the implications of mitigation policies on gas and hydrogen demand in Ireland using least cost pathway modelling. In January 2021, Niall moved into a new position as Research Support Officer, a role that is responsible for the co-ordination of programme plans for the MaREI Energy Policy and Modelling Research Group while also contributing to explorations regarding low-carbon energy futures and associated technology opportunities to inform short term and long term energy and climate policy decisions.
Niall holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Energy from the University of Limerick and a Higher Diploma in Biopharmaceutical and Medical Device Manufacturing from the Technological University of Dublin. Niall returned to Ireland in 2020 after spending four years working in Canada and New Zealand in the finance industry.
