LiftWEC – The Development of a Lift-Based Wave Energy Converter – End of Project Presentations

March 21, 2023 4:00 pm

The LiftWEC Project is a Horizon 2020 research project focused on the development of a novel type of wave energy converter whose primary excitation force is that of hydrodynamic lift generated by a series of rotating hydrofoils.

Over the last three years, 10 partners from seven European countries have collaborated to develop the LiftWEC device. To complete the development, a whole-systems co-design approach was employed so that not only hydrodynamic but also structural, control, environmental, O&M, LCoE & other considerations could be included within the design process.

This 1-hour webinar will act as an end of project dissemination event where some of the work completed within the project will be outlined, and key findings shared with the wider wave energy community.
