OVERVIEW

Cian Warby works on engineering applications of stochastic differential equations in offshore and marine problems. He is a member of Dynamical Systems and Risk Laboratory, School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, UCD and the Wave Group, School of Mathematics and Statistics, UCD.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES

He currently investigates the problem of marine growth and biofouling, along with fundamental problems around dynamical responses where stochastic differential equations are relevant.

BACKGROUND

Cian Warby is carrying out doctoral research in University College Dublin under Vikram Pakrashi and Fredric Dias. He received an undergraduate degree in theoretical physics at University College Dublin, followed by a master’s degree in applied mathematics at the University of Cambridge, with a particular focus on fluid dynamics. He particularly enjoys the application of mathematics and computational techniques to real-world problems.
