OVERVIEW

Emma is currently pursuing a PhD as part of the Marine Ecology Group at MaREI/UCC, under the supervision of Dr Mark Jessopp. Her research focuses on the vulnerability of pelagic seabirds to the introduction of offshore renewable energy infrastructure off the Irish coast.

BACKGROUND

Emma graduated from University College Cork with a BSc (Hons) in Zoology in 2020, and an MSc (Hons) in Marine Biology in 2021. Throughout her studies, she has developed a range of field and laboratory skills, with a keen interest in examining anthropogenic impacts on the marine environment. This is reflected in much of her research projects to date, examining topics such as the impact of marine plastics and oil pollution on marine fauna.
