OVERVIEW

Luke is a PhD researcher at the Centre for Robotics and Intelligent Systems (CRIS) at the University of Limerick. His research involves the development of real-time imaging systems using AI/Computer Vision methods for flight control of field robots. Real-time processed data streams can enable reactive robotic vehicle response to dynamic situations in the field. Processing of such data is often carried out offline where time is not an issue, this research aims to generate results swiftly making them available to a pilot in real time, enabling eased mission completion, and the possibility for autonomous functionality.

Before beginning his PhD research, Luke completed his BEng degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering with First Class Honours from the University of Limerick, with Final Year Project titled “Real-Time Image/Video Stitching on an NVIDIA Jetson TX2”.
