Naval architect with good experience in research as well as the maritime industry. Experienced in handling various engineering jobs related to design, construction and analyses of ships and offshore structures. Floating offshore wind energy-enthusiast.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES:

Rahul is a Marie-Curie industrial PhD research fellow at University College Cork, in the H2020-MSCA-ITN-2019-STEP4WIND project since November 2020. His research topic is ‘Installation and decommissioning of large floating offshore windfarms’. The work is mainly focused on marine operations and various innovations applicable in the floating offshore wind energy domain.

BACKGROUND:

Rahul holds a Master’s degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, Portugal. Before joining MaREI, he worked in the industry as a naval architect in a shipyard and a marine consultancy in India and Denmark respectively. Rahul also worked as a researcher during his Master’s degree tenure.  He has experience in ship design, structural analyses, ocean engineering and marine hydrodynamics.
