Pint of Science Limerick

Pint of Science Limerick

MaREI researcher, Joseph Coleman, from the University of Limerick, participated in the Pint of Science Limerick event, bringing science and engineering closer to general public.

Pint of Science is an event where scientist and engineers ditch the lab coats and deliver their research tales in a fun, engaging and approachable way by bringing them to the local pub. Some of the most interesting and knowledgeable scientists and engineers gathered in Limerick on the 25th of May 2016, one of which was MMRRC’s Dr Joseph Coleman with a talk called ‘Marine robotics: explorers and workhorses of our oceans’. The local people gathered in the pub to listen to their researcher stories, challenges and discoveries, while enjoying a pint in a comfortable pub environment. Even after all the scientists and engineers presented their stories, the discussions continued as many new topics were discovered.
