SATURN’s First Annual Newsletter

SATURN is pleased to bring you their first annual newsletter, summarising their research and activities since kicking off the project in February 2021. SATURN is an EU-funded interdisciplinary research project that brings together 20 institutions to examine and develop solutions to the problem of underwater radiated noise caused by shipping and other vessels. For the next four years, they will be filling gaps in knowledge around the sources of underwater radiated noise; determining the short-term and cumulative impacts of URN on invertebrates, fish, and marine mammals; and evaluating the most promising solutions to reducing URN.
