Introduction
A Brush With Climate will utilise UCC’s expertise in climate change and communications and The Environmental Forum’s experience of local community climate action. Workshops with hairstylists will co-develop resources to support conversations on local climate mitigation and adaptation actions, including the top most impactful personal climate actions, as well as methods to encourage clients to take adopt some of these actions.
Resources
If you are a client and you have come to this website from a QR code survey, we have compiled a list of resources here to support you in making a climate action pledge.
This is a starter pack answering some commonly asked questions about climate change and why it matters. It also provides lots of personal climate actions you can take and explains some of the financial, health, and social benefits of these actions.
For more information on each of these actions, you can visit the UN website on ‘Actions for a Healthy Planet’.
Aim
A Brush With Climate aims to inspire interest and spark conversations in everyday life about climate action, focusing on positive action-orientated messages and debunking climate delay discourses. It aims to support and empower hairstylists to lead conversations about climate change with their clients, with the goal of inspiring behaviour change through climate action pledges. Clients are encouraged to pledge a climate action which they can do in between their salon visits, with feedback assessed through follow-up visits and surveys.
