Hydrogen is quickly becoming a part of many countries’ decarbonisation strategy. It offers Ireland the opportunity to decarbonise both the transport and heating sectors, which have been difficult to decarbonise to date. Green hydrogen produced from wind energy additionally offers Ireland the opportunity to further exploit its abundant wind resources.

Energy Ireland is holding an online conference that will bring together stakeholders from across the energy sector to look at the potential for hydrogen production, storage and transport in Ireland. The conference will also look at uses of green hydrogen in the transport and heating sectors. It will also look at the potential to export hydrogen, particularly to Germany which is expected to become a significant net importer of green hydrogen. This conference offers a practical in-depth look at an opportunity that has the potential to deliver a significant impact on greenhouse gas emissions.
