IDEA-IRL Podcast – Marine Spatial Planning With MARA

The IDEA Ireland project podcast series looks at the offshore wind farm industry featuring experts on key aspects of the design and operation of a floating offshore wind farm. Through the series, you will get an overview of the industry, the stakeholders involved in developing a floating wind farm, and the opportunities and challenges that floating wind presents.  

In this episode, MaREI’s Fiona Devoy McAuliffe is joined by Rory O’Leary who has over 20 years experience in the industry and is Principal Officer at the Maritime Area Regulatory Authority (MARA). Fiona and Rory discuss the planning process and the need to ensure offshore wind farms are implemented in maritime areas and meet criteria that deliver all the while considering maritime environments.
