OVERVIEW 

Muhammad Nabeel Haider is from Pakistan and is working on the CABBBIE project as a PhD student in the Circular Economy, Energy and Environmental Systems (CEEES) Research Group at MaREI, the SFI Research Centre for Energy, Climate and Marine at the Environmental Research Institute in University College Cork.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES

His current undertakings in the CABBBIE project include microalgal strain selection that is suitable for anaerobic digestion, biological treatment of anaerobic digestate, and efficient downstream processing of algal biomass for food and feed applications.

BACKGROUND

His research background focused on the outdoor cultivation of microalgae, bioprocessing of algal biomass in the biorefinery paradigm, and resource recovery from wastewater by using microalgae and cyanobacteria to maintain the Energy-Water-Environment nexus sustainable.

The aim of the CABBBIE project is to provide a comprehensive pathway to commercialise photosynthetic biogas upgrading technology for an adaptive, flexible and secure Irish bioeconomy by 2050.
